Protocol for changing management actions and resource condition targets
Status:
Complete
Summary:
This evaluation developed a protocol for formally modifying management action and resource condition targets in accordance with best adaptive management practices.
The process involved consultation with regional coordination groups (RCGs), the Regional NRM Groups Collective, Queensland and Australian Government regional liaison officers, and the Queensland Learning and Evaluation team.
The protocol presents a clear and agreed understanding amongst the regional NRM groups and Queensland and Australian Governments on:
- examples of different circumstances or triggers leading to a target review
- a working definition of significant changes to targets, the related process steps, roles and approval pathways where needed
- regional-level good practice considerations for target reviews and resulting implications for management.
The protocol formed the basis for the development of the Protocol for reviewing regional natural resource management plans.
