Coordination of social and economic information for the development of a regional information service
With particular emphasis on local government and regional NRM bodies, this project developed mechanisms to integrate existing social and economic data sets into NAP planning activities.
This was done through emerging regional information systems, e.g. online access, data protocols and management standards.
This project links strongly with the information management SIP IM01 (one of the capacity building SIPs) and is being run as a case study with the Fitzroy Basin Association.
Central Queensland Regional Information System
The Central Queensland Regional Information System (CQRIS) provides access to accurate and timely information of an economic, social, geospatial and/or demographic nature to improve regional planning and implementation.
A number of products are available to regional NRM bodies including data protocols, data management standards and training packages to assist in building regional information systems tailored to regional needs.
This project was completed in June 2006. A final report (PDF, 172 kB)* is now available.
