Innovations fund for designing, implementing and monitoring incentives
The innovations funded research on economic incentives in a working partnership between regional NRM bodies, researcher/s and the Department of Environment and Resource Management.
Funding was provided for:
- detailed design of incentive mechanisms
- communication and liaison with incentive target stakeholders
- legal advice and contract design
- operation components of monitoring
- detailed incentive program evaluation including expert input, surveying participants, analysis of effectiveness and compliance.

Designer Carrots
Designer Carrots Symposium
Held in Brisbane in 2006, this symposium shared lessons from the above trials. Participants also heard the latest on market-based instrument design and implementation from experts including John Rolfe, Stuart Whitten, Mark Eigenraam and Mark Morrison through the AgSIP13 project.
Another symposium is planned for July 28 2011.
