Regional natural resource management

State-level investment projects (SIPs)

The National Action Plan for Salinity and Water Quality's state-level investment projects (SIPs) cover five key areas.

Sustainable agriculture

The sustainable agriculture SIPs (or AgSIPs) cover grazing lands management, industry natural resource management, landscape management, coordination and process support. It delivers capacity building outcomes to primary producers and regional bodies in a multi-regional context.

Capacity building

The capacity building SIPs aim to support regional NRM plan development and implementation by investing in the skills and systems required by groups and individuals to participate in regional NRM work.

Salinity

The salinity SIPs bring together land and groundwater resource information as a basis for producing information products and practical tools that will allow hazard and risk assessments of salinity.

Social and economic

The social and economic SIPs aim to improve the way social and economic factors are taken into account in NRM.

Water quality

The water quality SIPs help regional NRM groups set water quality targets and assist the development of monitoring, evaluation and reporting components of NRM planning.
