Funding opportunities
There is a range of funding sources for NRM projects:
Australian Government - Grants
- Provides information on NRM grants offered by the Australian Government; also provides information on previously funded projects. To start searching, visit the A to Z of funding opportunities.
Community Activity Grants
- Offered annually by the Department of Natural Resources and Water; provides grants of up to $5000 for community groups (or $10 000 for a genuine collaboration between two or more organisations) to raise awareness of NRM issues.
Envirofund
- Provides grants of up to $50 000 to help local communities undertake projects that promote sustainable resource use and conserve native plants and animals. See the Envirofund website for more information.
GrantsConnect
- Offered by the Environmental Protection Agency; provides a brief overview of sources of funding for environmental management projects. To start searching, visit the GrantsConnect website.
Lifestyle WaterWise grants
- A $10 million program to encourage not-for-profit organisations to reduce consumption of treated drinking water. To apply or get more information, visit the Department of Natural Resources and Water website.
NRM incentives database
- Contains information about funding and other incentives for community groups and landholders. To start searching, visit the NRM incentives database.
Queensland Government - Grants
- Information on current funding and grants for all Queensland Government departments; visit Queensland Government - Grants, or contact Smart Service Queensland on 13 13 04.
Water Fund
- Offered by the Australian Government; provides grants to help local communities promote the wise use of water. See the Water Fund website for more information.
